Driving directions from MCO
As we can't book another trip to Orlando for the foreseeable future, during lockdown me and my wife have been reminiscing about our last trip to Orlando in 2019.
We've been trying to work out the way the rental satnav took us, from MCO to the US192, and I can't figure it out looking on google maps. I can only presume that the satnav had been set up to avoid tolls and highways. As it took us through an industrial type area, and I seem to remember Tradeport Drive in the directions. We then ended up joining the I4 by the Disney Springs exit. Can anyone help with directions from the airport that our satnav took us? |

If you were set up to avoid tolls and you used Tradeport Drive you must have gone north out of the airport. You would have carried on to W Vineland Road and then onto Central Florida Parkway. There is a slip road up onto the I4 at the end of CFP.

I have I often rented a villa on SR535 whixh runs North of 192. When we drive from MCO our route takes us south onto 417 and then west where we leave 417 to take 535 towards the villa.
I'm guessing you would wither leave at this exit to join 192 or possibly a bit further west. I prefer to use the toll roads as 417 is such a good route.

Julie has already answered BB Happy to oblige for future driving.
I was looking forward to landing in TPA in April for the first time and not seeing the 417 at all - but the chances are diminishing by the day. Mick

Although we have no plans to return to the sunshine state in the near future for those who have plans (including you two) I long for the days when the skies open up again.

I was 75 last Sunday but my child bride is only 74 and we do expect to hear about our jabs any time soon.
However those alone won't allow us to go nor will Biden opening the borders. The key thing for us is for the FCO to lift the advisory as until they do our travel insurance is invalid. You know the holidays we have under the lanai and we could cope but not if we fell sick. Mick

That route does make sense looking on google maps.
I can only presume the satnav was setup to avoid tolls, wish I had checked the setup before leaving the rental area, as I know the route from previous trips - either south to the 417 or north to the toll road. I think at the time as I'd gone off the roads I knew I just followed the satnav, and just followed it as I didn't have a clue where we were |

We also had this on our first time to Florida, first time husband driving overseas. We paid extra so we would get internal flight early and be driving in the daytime. I had an idea we were going the wrong way from using Google Maps. We ended up parked up in a restaurant car park, dusk and throwing it down. It was a nightmare! Ended up taking 3 kids to Walmart for dinner/supplies at 10.30pm.
