Universal question

We we staying a night at hrh As doing hhn that night, the plan is to check in and get our express pass and head to IOA come back to hotel about 1 then head back into universal for 4 so that we are in the holding pens at finnegans . If we do decide to go in a bit later say 5pm I�ve read that there is a separate entrance into universal for hard rock guests is this true? First time staying onsite

Its not exclusive to HRH guests, but there is a different entrance if you choose to walk to Universal.
head out near the pool and through the gate, past the boat and follow the path the whole way and you'll eventually get to universal studios.
There are signs on the paths

There is a side entrance but it�s for all onsite hotel guests not just HRH. We used it when we went to HHN and were staying at Cabana Bay.

ISn't that a different entrance from the RPR, Sapphire, Cabana Bay direction and into City Walk? The HRH and Portofino comes in at the other side nearer Universal , but not into Universal, just the citywalk area, but right by the enterance to Universal, unlike the RPR/Cabana bay which is inbetween Universal and IoA

Ps. It's also for anyone doing the walk, not just hotel guests.
