Behind the Scenes Tour at AK

Has anyone done this? What is involved? Do you get to see or touch any of the animals?

Thanks.

We did Backstage Safari a couple of years ago, great tour

You get to see the backstage areas where the animals sleep, see where their food is prepared etc. We got to touch a Rhino (through the bars lol) and some birds in a backstage area. We also went on Kilimanjaro Safari with our guide telling us about the attraction on the Mike instead of the poaching story being played

We've also done Wild by Design which although wasn't backstage and you don't get to touch any animals was FANTASTIC, one of my favourite tours, it's basically a walking tour of Animal Kingdom and finding out the stories about all of the different areas and having all the little details pointed out I've read all the books I can find, got the Imagineering field guide read loads on the net but this tour really opened my eyes to Animal Kingdom, especially Dinoland, once the story behind it has been explained properley and loads of things been pointed out the land makes a lot more sense

Thanks for the advice, it was really helpful. Thinking of booking one of the tours at AK for DH as a surprise. Will have a look at the other one you suggested as I think he would really like that too.

Backstage Safari is about $70 per person and lasts appox 3 hours and is only for 16 and older.
Wild by design is about $60 per person, lasts approx 3 hours and is 14 and older.

I think Wild by design was my favourite

It's because on Backstage Safari you are taken behind the scenes where guests aren't normally allowed and you might see certain things that might be ermm strange but on Wild by Design you stay 'inside' the park
