Boats, Bahamas and Boos: DCL October 2019: Day 3: Tours, Tricks and Treats
Day 3: Tours, Tricks and Treats
Tuesday 15th October 2019 We woke up this morning and decided on a Cabana’s breakfast, before exploring the ship again whilst it was still fairly quiet. We had already docked in Nassau and our plans today were to head off the ship and explore further afield. When we have been to this port on previous cruises, we have never made it much further than the high street and market areas; and to be honest we didn’t really think much of the area. However, a bit of research let us know that there was a lot more to do, not much further in land and we had decided to head to the rum distillery for a tour and tasting. As we were eager to explore, we decided to walk. The route we took went past a museum with some colourful artwork outside. The walk wasn’t too long and thankfully it wasn’t too hot, but we were certainly ready for a drink by the time we got there! It was such a quaint building and the people that worked there were very friendly and knowledgable. There was no-one else waiting, so we had our own private tour. We got to look at the buildings, the staff hand labelling the bottles, smell barrels and find out lots of interesting facts. This was all free, but we did tip our guide at the end as he had been so fab. After we had looked around, we of course headed to the bar and brought one of the sampling flights. They were a tad too strong for me , but Nathan really enjoyed them and managed to polish everything off. With all of that alcohol in our bellies, we thought it would be best to grab some food next. Nathan loves trying all of the random additional items on McDonald menus when we are abroad, so this is where we ate. We had some very saucy McRibs and a nice cool down in the air con, whilst deciding what else we wanted to do. We had walked past some interesting independent boutique stores on the way to the distillery and decided to have a mooch in these on the way back to the ship. I of course found things to purchase! Another magnet for our collection, a Harry Potter Alex and Ani bracelet for our Universal trips and some banana rum to take home with us. Back on board we changed and got ready for tonights event - trick or treating! We decided to get involved and dressed up as Mickey and Minnie. With our trick or treat bags in hand we followed the signs around the ship and scored lots of candy! We also got to meet some of the characters in their Halloween outfits. There was also a mini show, again in the atrium, where we got to see even more characters. Some of our table mates had also dressed up as pirates and we enjoyed a Halloween twist to our meals, including this adorable spider dessert. We all decided to head down to the adults entertainment area after dinner, where we got involved in the competitions. This included the CMs splitting the room in half and competing in dares, such as the men on our table doing a dirty dancing style lift with one of the entertainers below and a very unusual game of Duck, Duck, Goose - which led to me running around a giant circle of adults, dressed as Minnie, in heels! We were all belly laughing and had a great night. As we had an early start, we didn’t manage to stay until the bitter end, before calling it a night and going up to our comfy bed. It was such a great day! Laura Xx

Aww Thank you!
I'm not sure how much Nathan loves dressing up, but I thoroughly enjoy it! Laura Xx
