Recommendations for things to do outside the parks

In the past we’ve done the airboat ride and done DC before. Are there any hidden gems of must dos that anyone can recommend at all?

Last time we visited in 2019 (seems such a long time ago) we went to Claremont up the Citrus Tower, a monument to the orange industry and is 226 feet high. We went on a clear day and the views were superb. It is a lift up so no worry about lots of stairs! Afterwards we went to Clermont and had lunch at a restaurant overlooking the lake and a wander round.

Added an edit as another thing we have enjoyed the past couple of trips is catching the Sunrail commuter train service, which is double decker so a good view from the upper deck. We have been from Poinciana (free car park) to Winter Haven and then visited the Morse museum which has one of the best collection of Tiffany glass, lamps etc and is well worth a visit in its own right.

We’re planning a trip to the Space Centre when we go next year. Don’t know if you’ve ever been? But I would imagine your boys would really enjoy it 😃

Merritt Island for wild life drive and also the one near Mount Dora. Mount Dora itself is a nice town to visit

We love a walk round board walk in an evening. Have you tried a nice walk around celebration? We plan on visiting some state parks this time, Kelly springs and blue springs look lovely xx

Hiring bikes round Celebration; dolphin watching in Little Toot Clearwater; Space Centre; National Parks; Saturday market, a beer and pizza at the Crooked Can Brewery, Winter Garden; The cars on a Fri/Sat at Old Town Kissimmee; Watch the Magics.
