David's as an owner?

Hi
I've listed our banked '19 points with Davids, this is the second time that I've responded to a booking request to only be told I wasn't quick enough, is this normal procedure? I'm thinking "we" are at a disadvantage due to time delays, has anyone been successful ?

I’ve used David’s once before and had good success. However I’m pretty much always checking emails so jumped on the booking as soon as it came through. How long after the request came through did you respond?

Wouldn’t ever be using David’s again since they changed their Ts & Cs to put all the risk on the owner though!

Yes, quite a few times but I kept an eye on my emails and replied within five minutes or so each time.

Though last time I rented through Facebook and got a lot more $$ than I did through Davids so I’m not sure I’d use them again.

Thanks, first time that we've had to rent out as normally there is no surplus! But just cancelled our third attempt & the extension is no use to anyone with a Jun UY
First attempt I was pretty quick, like within 10 mins quick, but second one might have been at least an hour as I hadn't checked my e-mails.Might have a look at the facebook thing though

Have you cancelled your room? The best way I found to rent was advertising a reservation. They are hard to come by and I’m sure that’s keeping prices inflated.

I did the same last year. Admittedly only had 14 points but made a reservation for a Friday evening in the run up to Christmas as I thought that might go more easily. Went no problem.

I am a bit concerned about the terms and conditions with David’s and will study them before committing any more points/reservations. I think we’ll have points to use up before next April as they were transferred in from my parents but will expire before we can go again.

Edited to say we are assuming at this point that we won’t be going in October, hence spare points.

I just rented points within 20 minutes of advertising on a FB renting page today. I could have sold numerous times over.

Iv'e used Davids a few times over the years to rent out points and had no trouble... I know they took some stick last year through Covid etc but so did
Villa Owners..VA..BA...and lots of others who customer services were bad...

hopefully next year Covid will ease off and bookings can go ahead as usual without last minute cancellations etc etc..

As for not being quick enough yes its based on first one to reply back as the people renting want a quick answer lol...try putting a notification on all your emails so you can quickly check if Davids is one..

I would only use David’s for a confirmed reservation that’s not too far ahead. I’d also advertise the booking on Facebook.

If it’s just points use the Facebook groups, but be prepared to put the work in, check the groups many times a day, be active, reply to threads.
