BLT popular rooms help?

Hi folks,

So I'm starting to realise that our Oct trip won't be happening and I'm considering changing our DVC booking now.

BLT is home resort - 220 points from 2021 and 72 from 2020 which will hopefully be extended. I can't borrow as my mum is going in November next year and will use 2022 but I would do one time purchase if it helped.

Kids really want to do BLT for some of the time we are there, we can get a 1 bed 5 night stay in Lake View for 210, not perfect dates and we will need accom on either side of it but its what the points allow just now. There is also standard availability (1 bed) for 6 nights for 224 points if we tweak the trip dates.

My question is... I know its a long shot but which is most likely to have availability 2 months out for us to tie on the extended points? I know its unlikely for either but if one is more likely than the other it'll sway me. Dates are probably leaving on 30th March for a couple of weeks.

I know next year is going to be busy busy so we will be happy with either and would use the additional points anywhere rather than lose them but I'm in a muddle.

Thats where my head is going, I think I'll maybe just call today and get that booked. I just wish we could use the 72 whilst theres availability instead of waiting until the start of the use year when it'll likely be gone

Could you rent out your 72 points and then use the funds to pay for a rental reservation or points transfer to get it booked?

So we ended up just booking the week we wanted, I thought my mum wanted to go 2022 and 2023 but she only wants 2022 so she's said she will borrow from 2023 if she needs extra. The 72 are extended and we will see if we can get anything with them in Feb and rent out if there's nothing we fancy, hopefully someone would be able to use them in May.
