Looking for opinions on points

Below is an extract from the conversation I had with DVC chat:

I am showing your reservation is 122 Banked Vacation Points and 163 Allotted Vacation Points. As long as you cancel your reservation anytime up till 31 days prior to your arrival date, this is how your Vacation Points will be returned to your February 2021 Use Year. The 163 Allotted Vacation Points can be banked to your February 2022 Use Year anytime between now and September 30, 2021. We can extend the expiration date of the 122 Banked Vacation Points till May 31, 2022. However, they will not be extended until the first week of your February 2022 Use Year.

So in essence we have a 3 week break booked for 20 October to 10 November. We will take our 163 points back but we aren’t quite sure what to do with the 122. We were deliberating as to whether it’s better to keep a modified reservation (because of the 50th anniversary) or just take back the 122 and try and rent them out through David’s or privately like I did with 40 random points before.

Would love to hear what others would do, as we only bought 2 or so years ago and not been able to use it yet!🙁

I'd bank the 163 and extend the 122 to the end of May - it's worth trying to rent a reservation if you have a short stay in a studio.

Usually I'd be the first to advocate renting a reservation or points, but at the moment normal rules don''t apply and people are looking for bargains again.

I wouldn't touch David's with a barge pole with their new policy that puts our points at risk.

If there is only a remote chance of you using the 122 points for a May reservation, then I'd sell them.
Inventory is very low, so if you can get a few days in May booked to sell on, I'd do it BUT the points wont become available until FEb 22 and so you may not be able to book anything with those points until after that date. I doubt you'd get much available for dates in May then.

Hence reason i'm saying sell.

I was in a similar predicament and advertised on 2 websites. PM me as 1 was a bit of a joke BUT the other proved much better!
