Staycation
When did the definition of staycation change?
It always used to mean staying at home and doing a few day trips, not a holiday in this country?

It has always meant both to me, depending on what side of the Atlantic you are looking at.
In the US it has been more as you describe it, in the UK it can be used for mini-breaks which can include staying away from home but in the UK. |

It is and always has been defined by your normal holiday habits.
