Milo is 20 weeks old and has been for one puppy groom so far. It was £28 for a trim around his eyes, paws and bits and pieces and a wash/dry. It took about 1.5hrs and she said we had obviously brushed him regularly as he had no mats. We do brush him every other day but he is also more shaggy than curly. His Mum is black cocker spaniel and his Dad is a ginger miniature poodle.

Milo is adorable and very loving to each family member, he is also very playful, smart and food obsessed! He has been a wonderful addition to our family.

We have a cockapoo who will be 10 next month. He is the best dog. So gentle and great with kids. I childmind and the children all love him. I get him groomed every 7-8 weeks. Give him the odd brush in between but very rarely, his coat is very manageable. I’ll try to upload a photo.
. Oops, I’ve posted photo twice, but he’s gorgeous, so worth doing twice 😂

It just goes to show how different every dog is just like people. My sisters 2 are with her 24/7 never leave her side, sleep on the bed. One suffers dreadful separation anxiety and cries if she goes to the shop. They bark at most things but one barks at every dog and they both bark when they arrive and leave. That said they've not had any training or puppy class. They are quite happy with short walks they don't cope well going for long. One stays by your leg on a walk the other if able would run off and stick two fingers up if she could. Not seen many with the same coat. Ones very poodle the other very dense thick curly fur.

Thank you all, they really are cute looking dogs.
I do have a lot to consider before committing to one.

If you loved your Westie I would consider another one of those, however I do know that skin complaints are common in them and you need to really vet the breeder. I’m also not a fan of white dogs as they always seem to get those dark stains around their eyes?

We had a Cairn ( some would say a forerunner of a Westie) a few years back and I would definitely have one of those again, great little sturdy, healthy dogs with super temperaments

All breeds of dogs are going for crazy prices now, might be some time before prices get back to normal again

Ours has to be combed at least alternate days and is professionally groomed every 8 weeks or less

He is the most amazing companion, full of love and joy. Picture added for cuteness

He is beautiful! What's his name?

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our cockapoo turns 1 this month and I can say they're a lovely breed.

We take Digby to the groomers every 8 weeks. Try to brush him every day, takes 10 mins. If we forget for a day or two it doesn't matter. We give him raw eggs which seems to keep his coat lovely and manageable. We also get him clipped quite short because he gets hot.

We’ve had 2 Westie, both lived to a good age, both were fantastic dogs but both had bad skin issues which we don’t want to have to deal with again.
Do the cairn not have the same skin issues as the Westie as they are from the same family?
