Lovely reading every ones updates and that we are all feeling the same emotions.

Our DD moved into Liverpool Uni last Saturday and a week on is enjoying it so much better, she has signed up for dances classes, theatre group, the gym and so looking forward to starting lectures tomorrow.

Hope all settle in as time goes on.

My DD's wifi info for her room was in her welcome pack that she got when she collected her room key. She has had her timetable for a couple of weeks, she got that by email from the uni.

That’s great news Ked. Georgia is feeling better now too. She has a few things planned for tomorrow just a few low key events which she’s nervous about but also quite looking forward to. I hope Kate feels better after a good night’s sleep too xx

I think signing up for things will help Georgia too. I’m really pleased to hear your daughter is settling well now xx

All the wifi info was in DDs welcome pack when she signed in yesterday and picked her keys up.
Has your son not got his induction info from his uni. If he hasn't got his timetable yet he will probably get it at induction. Tell him to check all his emails and his spam folder.
Tell him to hang around the kitchen, best way to meet people he is sharing with.

I do hope your journey wasn’t too bad home and you are feeling ok in your empty nest. I think it’s going to take a lot to get used to 😔
My DD was like that too. One minute she was OK, the next she wasn’t. Doesn’t help her that a lot of her school friends and boyfriend have stayed locally for uni. I’m sure Georgia will be ok when things start with her course.

We are still on our way home so haven’t opened the empty nest door yet

Hugs to you all. We are now 5 weeks in and it does get easier. Thankfully my DS seems to be loving it - and is surprisingly good at keeping in contact! He is trying to get n the robotics team (homework, tutorials and tests to get through - apparently very competitive) and has applied to be a university ambassador (under his visa he can work upto 10h a week on campus). He is hoping that as he is bilingual (English/French) he will have a chance of getting an interview.

I hope everyone (parents and kids) settles into their new normal very quickly!

I’m a week in now as we dropped Ben last Sunday, I still really miss him but my emotions have calmed down and no tears since last Monday. Ben starts lectures tomorrow and has been doing a lot of reading ready for them. His timetable was on the Uni website once he had logged in. The Wi-fi login etc was in a pamphlet in his room. He has said he has felt homesick at times but he has made friends with few on his course and several flat mates. This week has been tough for him as like a lot of the others he is not a drinker or clubber but he attended a few things - history quiz, comedy night and kept busy in the day. Overall I am really pleased how he has settled, he seems happy and has been in contact every day either by FaceTime or text. My youngest DS has really missed him too and has been made worse by him being really poorly with tonsillitis, so I have also been kept busy looking after him. I hope all the children find their feet and settle in which will help all the parents feel a bit happier knowing their sons/daughters are okay.
