Not sure about winter closing but I know one is normally closed about Sep time when I believe they do maintenance etc on it.

Have Disney said why they haven't opened the waterparks?
I thought with the chlorine it would be fairly safe?

Disney generally have one closed in autumn and the other in winter, for maintenance. Presumably they haven't opened them for financial reasons.

I didn't know about winter as never been or looked into going that time of year. Think it would be nice for a xmas trip but I imagine it would be cold (like a British summer ha ha) and very busy.

Yeah I would guess it must be financial them not opening the waterparks. The waterparks as far as i can see are no more risky to open than the other parks. I'd personally say they're safer due to chlorine.

I am not surprised at all. Most visitors at the moment are locals or other Americans on short breaks. Neither will be very interested in visiting a waterpark in the winter.

I’m also not surprised by this to be honest. I got the email a couple of days ago.

When we went in December it was mostly brits in the water parks, the brits aren’t there at the moment and probably are unlikely to be back this winter so I can understand why it’s been closed.

They usually close one for refurbishment and leave one open.
