Oh ok thanks, they're already complaining about LA hotel prices

They ain’t seen nothing yet 🤣 The hostel down on Fisherman’s Wharf get good reviews. There’s also a budget hotel in Union Square called Grant Hotel. By budget I mean £150 per night. My cousin stayed there but she booked a year in advance so it may be booked out. You would need to do research on any other hostels, some of them are iffy and close to Tenderloin or SOMA. Whereas in LA all the touristy neighbourhoods are safe enough. Hollywood isn’t as pristine and glamorous as Beverly Hills but is fine. For their flights try for Southwest who will give them 2 free suitcases each, others airlines will want around $30 per case at check in. Use Uber/Lyft instead of taxis. It’s hard to do the west coast on a budget.

Ok thank you, they have Vegas after SF ! But that's booked already.
They're thinking maybe miss out SF now and add two nights onto Vegas!
They're having four nights in LA and were looking at two in SF.

There’s no harm having a look but if the hotel prices are too high then extending Vegas might be a good idea (one less flight to pay for too) Burbank airport has flights to Vegas on Southwest, much cheaper to get to and less hassle than LAX (unless they book accommodation in Santa Monica).

Last time I went I stayed in Hollywood Celebrity Hotel it's a 30 sec walk from the Walk of Fame and opposite the Magic Castle, I found it a great location. It is about £150 a night but it was the cheapest acceptable one in a good location I could find for my trip. Was spotlessly clean and had a decent breakfast included.

Celebrity hotel had no availability for their dates.
They're looking at Days inn by wyndham Santa Monica now. Maybe hotel carmel, but that's more expensive.
San Francisco isn't happening now .

The days in is a long way from the beach where the metro stop is. Is there a bus line nearby?

There is a big blue bus stop very nearby apparently, one block away that gets to Venice beach and Santa Monica pier.
The hotel seems a bit tatty /budget type but reviews are ok , it includes a bit of breakfast too.
So the plan is check out of Disney program accommodation
Spend one night at All Star Sports,
Fly to Washington, one night
Coach to New York, three nights,
Fly to San Diego, three nights,
Train to LA, five nights
Fly to Vegas, five nights
Vegas to Manchester, Galway 😀😀
