Dolphin or CSR?
We haven't stayed onsite for a long time - we have used Bonnet Creek resort recently - but for our next trip, we want to stay onsite for part of the trip as it is a special trip and also our daughter (who will be 16) hasn't stayed onsite when she has been old enough.
At the moment, there are only a restricted number of Disney hotels available for booking for October 2021. Looking within our budget, CSR is our preferred resort. However, when looking, the Dolphin is coming is around £500 cheaper and the rooms are bigger. Although the Dolphin is not as themed, the location would probably give a bit more freedom for our daughter with the Boardwalk. Anyone stayed at both who can give a useful comparison? Thanks

Have you factored in the the resort charge for the Dolphin? Seem to think its around $35 a day.

The Dolphin would be my preference based on location. We’re booked in to CSR though because it’s significantly cheaper (we hit the free nights). I will keep looking for a good price for the Dolphin though. We stayed at both last year and both have their good points but the resorts you can walk to the theme parks from take some beating.

Thanks for flagging this up - yes, I was aware of the resort fee which is $30 a day according to their website so still gives us a fairly large saving against CSR.

We had the same dilemma for Easter next year. Wanted to book somewhere with free cancellation and was going to push button on Caribbean via USA site at just over 3600 dollars for 12 nights.
However today we found a deal for £2100 for dolphin, thought at that price it was good value. |

My kids are were 11 & 13 when we visited last year and they loved loved loved the Boardwalk area. We've stayed at CBR, POFQ x 2, Contemporary and All Star Music, but now when we go back n 2022, they will be 16 & 14, if we were considering staying onsite I would probably look at the Dolphin purely for the location, walking distance to Epcot, Skyliner nearby, and all the vibrancy of the Boardwalk. CSR is lovely, but I don't think you can beat the location of the Dolphin and has a more grown up feel. I would be more than happy for mine to walk to the shops/restaurants/Epcot without us.

Bear in mind there’s no Disney transport from Swan & Dolphin to the parks etc now, just mears to ticket & transportation I believe, no magic express either. Also no charging to room or package delivery. Not huge issues but worth considering.

Thanks for the response. It would only really be AK and MK impacted and I'm happy to drive. Also, if I really needed to, it is only a short walk to either Y&B or Boardwalk to get real Disney transport.
Don't use DME and never bothered with deliveries so not ones that impact me but thanks for flagging these up.
