I can touch my toes!

i decided in April to take advantage of having to stay in and finally start doing something to help improve my ageing body!

I went on YouTube and found some simple stretching exercises and some easy yoga moves and have spent around 20 minutes each day practicing.

Today I can finally bend over and touch my toes! I was stiff as a board so, for me, this is a miracle.

You did it! That's brilliant. Well done for keeping your motivation and achieving your goal. Not sure how close I can get to my toes 😂

Well done! Would you mind sharing which YouTube this is on please? I have bad knees and find impact training & jumping too difficult, but would love something to tone me up a bit! Thx.

This is the one I started with and still stick with but added a few more moves over the weeks. I am taking it slowly and am not pushing myself as I don’t want to do any damage. I have had back problems and sciatica in the past along with hip bursitis last year. Some of these moves are the same as my physio gave me last year (which I didn’t keep up once I was pain free).

Hope this helps. My husband has even started and does the exercises each day but especially before playing golf and he says it has helped!

Excellent news, now keep it up, your practice I mean. You will benefit so much from it mentally and physically.

I will, I promise!

I am even more enthusiastic now that I am starting to feel the results. I knew it would take a few weeks for this to happen but it’s definitely worth it. My neighbour has been asking me to go to a yoga class with her (before Covid of course) and I declined as I was so embarrassed at how stiff I was. Once the classes start back up I aim to go along now.

Well done you! I became hooked on yoga last year and it’s done my back and hips wonders! There’s some decent apps available now as well

I could not get on with Yoga personally but found Tai Chi was perfect for me physically & mentally.
You have to find the one that suits you.
