Also is there enough to do in Clearwater for a week?

Would a Disney cruise be doable? or is this too difficult without a car?

I do have a budget but just trying to look at all options as this will be a one off trip for us.

Many thanks for your help.
We would do a week at universal/shopping, a Disney cruise and then 2 weeks at Disney

Four weeks sounds great but I couldn't make my holiday entitlement stretch that far as I would need some time else elsewhere in the year too.

Those of you that take 4 weeks in one go, are you retired or do you simply go without holidays for the rest of the year? I am wondering whether its not as bad to do as I imagine!

You'll be fine in a hotel room, we used to do that all the time when our two girls came with us. Your not in your room much and even on rest days, you'll be shopping or sunbathing at the pools etc.
4 weeks is a good amount of time as you wont have to rush. Ubers are so cheap, you will not miss a car.

You will have a great time but personally I would have a car, there is so much to do away from Disney and Universal.

I am lucky enough to work term time so have the 6 weeks off over the summer.

I'm going for the first four weeks of the holidays so the kids and I have 2 weeks at home to recover before school starts!

I've decided not to book the cruise although it looked very tempting but it would have meant orlando - cruise - Clearwater which just felt like a lot to manage.

So three weeks at Saratoga Springs in a one bed villa and a week in Clearwater with an AirBNB booking.

Just need to figure out what we're doing while we're there now but i'm sure there's lots more help on this forum for that!

Thanks so much for your help xx

Just keep in mind that "once in a lifetime" very very rarely turns out to be what it says. So you may want to keep that into account for your budget. You can spend 1k/week or you can spend 5k/week with ease.
