RS vs FQ
Is there much of a difference between these two?
Is one better than the other? Not stayed in either so grateful for opinions. |

I’d say the main differences are, Riverside is bigger, has 4 bus stops, a table service restaurant and 5 small quiet pools. It also has a bigger shop and amenities like fishing. It’s a 20 minute boat ride to Disney Springs.
FQ is tiny. The furthest room is a still only a short walk from the lobby. Only has 1 bus stop. Quiet community feel. 15 minute boat ride to Disney Springs. Nice food court. Beignets! Personally I prefer FQ. It’s a beautiful resort and I love how small and quiet it is. You can however use the amenities at either resort (even the pools) and they are a 10 minute walk or 5 minute boat/bus away from each other. FQ has recently had its rooms redecorated. Riverside has had some done but the rest are on hold until March. Portorleans.org has loads of helpful info on both resorts too. Edited at 05:28 PM. |

Getting Excited

As Unexpectedpenny has said Riverside is a much larger resort split into two themes from the south, it has a larger food hall with a table service restaurant. French Quarter is themed more of new orleans mardi gras style and is a lot smaller of a resort, the bonus of FQ is it's size makes it more of a community vibe oh and also, FQ has the beignets! mmmm!
Personally i'd go for riverside, i generally prefer the theme, but it's all personal preference. You can watch the tim tracker's youtube videos where he does the resort tours to get an idea.

As has been said a lot of it is down to personal preference. We prefer Riverside for the theming, the quiet pools and the food hall. I personally don't like the theming at French Quarter at all and would probably never stay there, but lots of people love it.

We prefer Riverside - we didn't really like the feel of FQ. But FQ is smaller and I know a lot of people really like that. I agree with the poster above - have a look at some youtube videos and see which one you like the feel of

We loved French quarter. It’s themed like New Orleans. It has beautiful gardens and it’s Really compact. One of the only hotels were it’s easier to pop to the food court to refill your mug than to make your own coffee.

Stayed in FQ in 2017 loved it so close to everything, bus stop, pool, receptionn and dinining.
Also walked to riverside the outside looked lovely and the food court was much bigger, we just liked the smaller layout of FQ, but I don't think you would go wrong with either |

Stayed at both and love both however FQ just edges it for us. I think though if we had stayed at Riverside first then we would probably feel the same about that. FQ was our first resort and the one we always look to come back to, we love the small size and theming. Cant wait to go back next October

We’ve stayed at both and I think I preferred French Quarter. Smaller and more compact, loved the theme and they have beignets which were yummy!
