Booked Baseball tickets @St Petersburg. Best beach to go to for the day?
It will be DH and I plus our two girls 13 and 8
We’d like to be there for lunch, afternoon on the beach and parked up at the Tropicana stadium for 6:30. Any recommendations ? |

Either St Pete Beach or Treasure Island are the best beaches in terms of proximity and convenience for Tropicana Field. They are about 8 miles away, but allow 20-30 minutes in evening traffic.

I would recommend Fort Desoto. Just round the corner from St Petes.

Sorry to try to hijack this thread slightly but how easy is it to park near Tropicana Park? We have tickets for an afternoon game v the Yankees in July?

We're going to the lunchtime game on 16th June. Staying in a hotel for the night, so leaving the car at the hotel and getting the trolley to the stadium so we can have a few beers. If anyone has any recommendations of places to have dinner afterwards, that would be great.

We went to Clearwater beach. It’s about 30-40 minutes drive from there to Tropicana Field
We parked in the official (ground) Car Park beside the stadium. Think it was $20. There were cheaper places nearby but to be parked so close to the stadium and not have any hassles/worry a one off $20 was OK with us There are loads of spaces there too.

To be able to pre-book parking in advance is definitely a time (and hassle) saver, and we think it's worth it, even if it is possible to park on the streets in some places for free. Better to be right next to the stadium and in an official car park:

FWIW we didn’t pre book. We just rocked up on the day and handed over the cash
