Running out of food option on plane?

I have read in a few threads that people sitting towards the back of the
plane on Virgin can be told that they have run out of a meal choice before the
cabin crew get to them. Just wondering how usual this is and if there is the same chance of this happening in PE ?

Sorry for the silly question, its just will need to be prepared to bring extra snacks as chances are there will only be one meal my fuss pot son would eat and if it runs out before i don't want him to go hungry

Oh Right, I dont realise that was for the std menu meals. i thought it was just for the special diet options or childrens meals.

If you really can’t face the options in the plane them grab something from home or get something at the airport shops. We’ve had to do that in the past. It was easier than messing about with on board options for my family.

I can confirm this has happened on PE twice now. On both our inbound and outbound flights. We had row 19 there and back and by the time they got to us, there was no beef OR chicken left, it was the veggie option only. The cabin lady went to see if there was any options left from the economy and same again there, nothing.

This is a very common occurrence with virgin and its getting tiring. You think they'd work out which their most popular option was and ensure they get more of those on board. We were very unimpressed, when you've forked out a lot of extra money to sit in premium and offered an upgraded "dining package" with an airline, then they run out of food twice, its not good.

This also happened to us on BA in PE. We were in the last row and all that was left was fish - no veggie or an offer of anything else. This is the first time we had experienced this.

Wasn’t too bothered as I don’t really like airline food anyway. But what did tick me off was that when we boarded we were given a menu! I did email BA that ‘why bother with the menu as the only choice is whatever is left’

Just a standard pro forma reply saying thank you for my comments which will be passed to the relevant dept... .. the usual stuff in a standard reply.

It was pretty much what I expected from Customer Service, but If this happens again I think I would email the CEO.

Just take loads of snacks, a boots meal deal is always helpful just incase they don’t eat! My 2 don’t stop eating on planes for some reason, think it’s boredom!

No such thing as a silly question, so stop being silly (oh groan!)

We travel in PE and tend to find airline food doesn't suit us, so we buy a couple of Boots Meal Deals, they hit the spot, especially if they're still selling the ones with 3 sarny's in the pack. We also bring a couple of apples/some grapes
