Agreed. I actually find cash FAR harder to keep track of.
I think it's more that you have a hard limit when using cash, where a card is soft. You can set yourself a budget, but nothing other than willpower to stop you spending more if the funds/limits are available. Of course, nothing to stop cash people withdrawing more cash unless they brought no other funding methods (unlikely - since cards are required 95% of the time for security deposits) so even that logic goes out the window for me. |
