My first visit to Disney was for work and Disney dropped us at the Studios at rope drop with some Disney dollars and instructions we needed to be at EPCOT for dinner at Germany at 5.30. The Studios had opened twelve days earlier so was manic.
Most of our group opted for the Backstage tour but we decided three hours was too long to stayin line and instead rode the Movie Ride and Startours and Muppets, encountered some characters and did a spot of shopping... all in the same time frame and the experience was everything I hoped Disney would be. I loved the Movie Ride and continue to do so. The Studios won't the same without it. I'll miss nodding off with Ellen at EPCOT too ("Work" in this context was a Delta airlines travel agent's FAM trip co sponsored by a trade weekly. A great bunch of strangers many of whom became friends over a crazy week visiting not just central but also northern Florida... Fun times) Edited at 08:47 AM. |

But Hollywood Studios, come on... we do Tower of Terror and Aerosmith then clear off to a water park.

Hollywood Studios will be an amazing park... By Summer 2019. Until then, it'll be an evening job with a handful of rides and Star Wars fireworks/Fantasmic for us!

I agree.
I'm surprised they are closing GMR now (well, not really based on the rumours, but... y'know). It would've made much more sense to close it once Toy Story Land was open next summer. Also, RIP Ellen's Energy Adventure You were loved by so few but I will miss you.

Was at Hollywood studios yesterday, GMR was our first ride, so glad we went on, but we had did all of the rides except rrrc and had lunch by 1.30. Enjoyed our morning but certainly for us, no need to go back.

We love GMR but looking forward to the Mickey and Minnie ride - that should be good. We go next week so I am looking forward to riding GMR for the last time.
