I'm surprised ET is still at Universal

As much as I like ET ride and it brings back a lot of good memories of when I used to visit Universal Studios when I was a child... but it must be the only old ride left now?
What do you all think of the ET ride?

Xx

The ET ride is one of the very few I remembered from my first trip to Universal in the 1990s, and I was determined to do it again in 2015. I loved it, its unique these days in its quaintness, but its definitely "of its time" - my teens weren't remotely interested in riding it as they have no idea who ET is. So I ended up riding it with a couple who were easily in their late 60s instead .

We visited US in June 1990 on our first visit to Florida.

US had only been open a couple of weeks and we remember a lot of rides were down. I recall queueing for ET for over an hour and thought we'd made it when we reached the door only to find another hour's queue inside through the woods.

We were given a free ticket to return but we only stayed in Orlando a week and then a week on the coast. Didn't think it was worth driving back from the coast for more queues.

Haven't been to US or IoA since 2008 though.

Yep, we did it last time but only for nostalgia.

I love the ET ride. Mainly for nostalgia but it is a cute ride apart from the slightly '60's vibe' at the end but it always makes us laugh!

It's suppose to have a unique ET smell. But I can't really remember noticing one when we went. Will have to revisit again, in a little over a week. 😎

I can remember the smell of pine when walking through the woods quite clearly even now.

We love the ride and with there being hardly any queues you almost walk onto the ride, when there was queues we did enjoy the slow walk through the woods and you did get the unique ET smell but now you just walk straight through with no queues.

We love it. It's dd's favourite ride and we ride it multiple times every trip.
I think it'll be a sad day when it goes, it's good to have an original ride that isn't a simulator

One of my favourites since riding at Universal in California (late 80s or early 90s, can't remember)

First time I visited Florida Universal with DH and DS, CM asked for our names and DH spelt his out. ET then said "Goodbye K-E-I-T-H"

I've never let him live it down
