Thanks iPotato.
Edit Had a good look and I think they’re a bit expensive for me at the moment. Hopefully when there’s more competition in September prices will be cheaper. Thanks again.

That’s a bit of a hike!
Hopefully you’ll get some bargains close to where you live.

As we're still debating our holiday plans, I've been checking flight prices most day.
Some Luthansa/United flights have popped up today for quite a few dates within the school Summer holidays (ie flying back before the end of August) for around £500pp which is the cheapest I've seen in a while. Example here: google/flights#flt=/...x:3,1;sd:1;t:f (Use the Price Graph function to see other dates and change the length of stay) |

As usual we've left it to the last minute to decide what we're doing! Looking for any Florida flights from London during the last 2 weeks of August - at the moment Fort Lauderdale seems to be coming in as the cheapest option - is there likely to be a BA sale at the end of the month? I'm sure that's when we booked our Atlanta flights last year?

Have you checked out the flights I linked to above and played with the pricing graph?
Doing some delving on the Lufthansa site, the reason the prices are so good, at least relative to other options right now, is that the return leg with United is being priced at something like £110, or £140 with one piece of hold luggage. If you want to do a 14-night stay, no more and no less, you can depart on 13/8 and 14/8 for £467, with 15/8, 16/8 and 17/8 being a bit more but still under £500. I've not checked the routing for each flight but the ones I have seem to be LHR -> MCO, changing in Frankfurt on the way out and coming back via Washington or another US city. |
