how exciting i would maybe not do any proper excursions as such as you ar on board for such a short amount of time. You can easierly go to monoco by yourself by train from Villefranche (just make sure you buy your ticket before you get on the train) only about a 10 minute train ride. We didnt get off of the boat in Palma as it was a nice quiet day where we could make full use of the pool. I think i remember a sea turtle hospital being a good excursion though. But im sure others will come along and help

WE did the Disney Magic cruise last year around the med (and have booked again for next year).
We booked the Disney excursions, which makes everything easy (but they are not the cheapest Disney will have quite a few to choose from, so until they say on their site it's difficult to recomend one as they may not be the same as last year. For Villefraanche we did the coach tour to Monte Carlo with a drink at the Cafe Paris. This was a nice tour but as always you never have enough time to see all you would like to. For Palma, we did the tour to a castle and the catherdral, again nice. The weather last year was quite hot, so you didn't want to do too much walking. I'd stick to 1/2 day tours though as a full day is really quite tiring - also the ship will be quiet whilst it's in port.

How exciting.
We went to Monaco from Villefranche. It was around €9 for all of us on the train. It took around 1 hour to get there, including tendering. On the front, is a lovely swimming pool overlooking all the boats, we wished we had taken our swim things with us. We walked to the Oceangraphic museum, where we caught the little red road train, this cost €8 each. This helped us get our bearings. We then caught the local bus to the Casino, which cost €1 each. Here we sat and watched all the rich folks drive around in their lovely cars. We caught the bus back to the station for another euro each. The ice creams cost €5 each. I nearly died. of shock. There were train delays and we had to wait an hour for a train, so I was a little worried. We were back on the boat for around 4.00 In Palma, I made the mistake of taking the free bus into Palma, we then had a 30 min walk to the bus station, we were heading for Magaluf. The bus to the waterpark and Magaulf stops at the end of the pier where the magic docks, so we wasted loads of time. I left DS on the boat, his choice and DH and I had a lovely morning child free. We were back for 2.00. Hope this helps. Next time, we will go to Monaco again, take our swim things and also spend some time in Villfranche itself. It's a beautiful place. Edited at 08:04 AM. |

Bet you are really excited. We did the 10 day Med cruise in 2010 and absolutely loved it. Would love to do another one but they are just too pricey at the minute.
When we stopped at Villefranche we did the excursion to Monaco and it was fab. The Disney excursions are expensive but worth every penny as you get so much more from them and the tour guides were exceptional. I would agree with previous posts - you are on the ship for a short period of time so I wouldn't plan too many excursions. You want to be able to enjoy the ship. You will have an absolutely fab time!

Hi,
We did the Marine Turtle Hospital excursion in Palma. It was great fun - you get to see areas closed to the publiuc, there is a dolphin show and a great water play area my boys loved (aged 5, 8 & 9 at the time). |
