P.S. Changed my profile pic yet again, don't think a photo of a giant ice cream is too appropriate for a diet forum!

Hey Kel. Yeah, a few people have said that about the corset and hopefully I will be nice and toned like you say!
I got so hot and bothered just trying them on. Mine isn't a massive princess dress, but it's fairly heavy lace and I can't wear a hoop as it looked terrible and ruined the slim line of the dress. I'll need airing by the end of the night. Dan is convinced I'll be drunk and pass out before he gets my dress off. I told him just to leave me in it, as will wear it to breakfast the next day! Oh yeah, hadn't thought about the whole back thing, but core exercises will be great for that, won't they? Noticed today I still have that fat that squeezes out by the sides of my arms. My arms are so musclular now, but still have a good layer of fat on them. Once that has gone they will look a lot better. Done weights and abs already, going to take dog out soon, but looks like rain, so keep delaying. You watch, it will rain as I leave! Shakes have arrived. Going to try one later, as had a massive 3 egg omelette for lunch. Feel stuffed. Had quite a few cals today as had banana bread for breakfast, but would prefer to get most of the cals out of the way with breakfast and lunch. Then do cross trainer and running and have a shake after. Glad lack of muscle ache is a good sign. Have a lovely time on your run hun! Hope you end up doing more than you think you can - knowing you, you will push yourself as ever. Like the new pic. I'm not keen on icecream at all, but that kitchen sink has loads of other lovely goodies in it.

Well I'm just back from the gym! I must have worked hard because the sweat I built up made me FREEZING when I left the gym! I had to nip to Tesco to get some chutney for my lunch which wasn't pleasant for me or anyone around me.
Alex, I feel your pain, on 1st Jan I took a dive down a flight of stairs (at work, completely sober) and tore all the muscles in my lower back. I've only been walking for 4 weeks now. I'm on restrictive exercises. I'm allowed to walk on the treadmill, crosstrainer and upright bike. And I can do some simple core exercises. A far cry from my martial arts and body pump/combat etc, but I still love it because as cliche as it is, I appreciate it so much more now. So at the gym I done 20 mins each of treadmill, cross trainer and bike and some core exercises. As much as it makes me a little grumpy going to the gym in the morning, I feel like I can enjoy my day so much more because I don't have it looming over me like a dark cloud every time I eat something, or laze on the sofa for a while. I might get in for a swim this afternoon, my swimsuit is still wet from yesterday which is a pathetic excuse I know .. I should really do something about it! |

Liz... my corset isn't a proper one its a cheap one for a silly hen boudoir photoshoot I'm doing next month. I ordered it by the size of my waist and it fits perfectly .. except the chest .. but that was always going to be a problem .. I don't have one! lol

Just finished my run. Cripes running is hard! I was knackered. I got really bad shoulder and back pain about 5 mins in which was great but luckily it kinda passed and then about 20 mins in got a stich! Honestly I consider myself fit and it was hard. In the end I couldn't do more than once round as the stich just got worse so we did once round and then a bit extra where there was the grassland. Did 3.5km which is about 2 miles I reckon. I was dissapointed in myself big time, I wanted to do twice round. Alex found it a breeze, he wasn't even out of breath at the end and he could have easily done more than once round. I'm going back tomorrow morning to try again, I cannot abide missing my targets and I'm peeved with myself. I mean I can easily do 3 hours of exercise a day, most exercises in full, quite easily and do 26 miles on a bike every week and yet I can't make 4 miles running? WTH?! Alex reckons Im being way hard on myself but I couldn't help thinking we must have looked like a personal trainer and client running today as I was clearly knackered and in pain and dressed in stupid clothes and Alex was running slightly in front of me, not even breaking a sweat and in proper cool clothes totally right for running. I felt a bit stupid. I had on tracksuit bottoms (didn't pluck up the courage for the running pants) and then a sports bra, a crop sports top and then the nearest I could find to a teeshirt which was a black tunic. Trouble is I threw out all my old bigger clothes and so I don't own one t shirt! Plus the bottoms were so static they just stuck to me, I seriously need some better clothes, only thing I do have is lots of trainers. What do you guys wear?
You know what the worse thing is? I don't even feel tired, achey or like I've worked out now I'm home so I know I gave in far too easily. :-( I'm going to do another hour exercise later to make up for it, then 9am tomorrow I'm going back for round two! Grrr. Yep Liz those back exercises will help a lot with that. I don't have that and I've always done a lot of bent over rows and such like so it must work. The cardio will get rid of fat around any muscles. Nat, good on you for going again, it's bloody hard and so knowing how you feel about exercise I'm absolutley in awe that you keep going back. Well done you. Right going to have a shake now.

Well done on the gym work Tweety - sounds like you did a fair bit!
Nat - try not to worry too much about weight as you'll hopefully be reducing fat! Kel - sounds like you did well to me. It is hard going, but 2 miles is superb. I also think different people find different things easier and most people find running hard, although you did a lot better than me. I get terrible stitch after only about 5 minutes and have to run through it. I can go on a bike for ages doing interval in comparison to doing it on a cross trainer and I am hopeless on a treadmill. I wear yoga type bottoms. They come to mid calf and are not too tight, but keep me warm/cool. Then a t-shirt and a zip up sweatshirt over it. Am still at work. Had hearing test earlier and found out I have moderate hearing loss! I struggle at high frequencies and those are the sounds at the beginning and ends of words, so it makes it hard to understand people at times, especially if there is background noise. My Mum has the same problem, but he said I am young for it He can refer me to the doctor to get a referral to a specialist to talk about options! He asked if I had thought about a hearing aid. I don't think it's that bad really, a bit of a pain, but it hardly impacts on my life. I just go around thinking people are mumbling a bit and not speaking clearly enough for my liking lol. Got my new glasses and love them. Also, ring is being delivered tomorrow and to say that I am excited would be a massive understatement.

Hi Liz,
Thanks. A lot of what you have said Alex said too, in that some people are just better at other types of exercise. But I just want to conquer this and feel I need to because of hopeful career plans. He also reckons it just takes time to get used to it and to get better at it. He also admits I need to go shopping and get some better clothes - hurrah! We don't have much money at the mo so it will be sports direct but that will do. Think I'll look for some 1/3 length trousers like you have and I know Nat has them too. I'm very impressed at you running through the stich, I find them so painful, Alex was saying take bigger breaths as it's lack of oxygen but it's not too easy to do that when running. My head was hurting and my shoulder but now it's just my upper back and arms that are sore - think I need to look at technique! Bad news about the hearing loss, do you mean you struggle to hear high frequencies? The reason I ask is that I have tinnitus and can hear high pitched noises very very clearly but low noises I can't pick up. So I can hear those Mosquitos that they have on shops and I can hear cat repellant alarms (this is what I fell out with my neighbour over) as if they are right next to my ear but low level grumbling or speaking sounds mumbly to me and I miss stuff. I basically have very acute hearing and can hear people speaking from a very ling way off but oddly don't always pick them up when right next to me. People at work say I have satellite ears as I can pick stuff up from very far away but get too close and I sometimes lose it. It's odd. Are you going to look into a hearing aid and get a referral? Glad you like your new glasses and OMG! Momentous day tomorrow getting THE ring! I can't wait to hear what you think of it. Cripes, that makes it so REAL doesn't it?! It's so close Liz! Just cooking tea now, having regge regge chicken and veg. Then am going to do Gunnar later so I'll do my summary now: B: shake and toast L: scrambled eggs on toast D: regge regge chicken and veg. SF jelly. S: jubbly Exercise: 2 mile run and Core secrets workout (I think it's an hour). Hope the run is going well Natalie! Got that 'miss wine Friday feeling' again. :-(

Hey Kel, oh how I have that miss wine feeling and was a little tempted. It's only knowing I'll feel to crap to exercise tomorrow that is stopping me.
Good that you can get some new bits and pieces! That makes it more fun My stitch probably isn't too bad. Dan said to stop, but I just wanted to get it over with TBH. I will try breathing more deeply, but my chest hurts! Yes, that's exactly it with high pitched noises - I can't hear them. You know those deterrents for teenagers that were talked about a little while ago, that only teenagers can hear? It's because your ability to hear high pitched noises decreases with age. I can't hear many at all. I can hear low noise though, like any electrical noises, when our toothbrushes are charging the noise drives me insane. I definitely think I lack where hearing is concerned! I think my strongest sense is probably smell. I can smell things a mile off. Am always smelling things before other people. Probably my food addiction lol. "she can smell a fresh pizza from 5 miles away" they would say about me if I was on a discovery programme lol. I don't think I have a running technique, unless it's called staying alive. I look like I'm just falling forwards! Dan never gets tired, but he really has no body fat! He bought some muscle building stuff and is doing weights like crazy at the mo to try and bulk up. I've given up trying to fatten him up. He loses as quickly as I gain. Have fun with Gunnar - can't wait for mine.

Lol. Staying alive! So know what you mean! Hehe. Tickled me that one.
Have you ever seen that friends episode with Phoebe running?! Not quite me but not far if. Hehe. Ah, I can hear those deterrents on shops as if they are right next to me. I can spot them a mile off as I can hear them. The cat deterrents are a similar noise it's awful. Alexs parents have one and it's kept me up at night before when we've stayed there. I switch it off though cause I can get away with it as no one but me can hear them. They sound like screaming to me. They are awful. Lol, when you said about smelling the pizza I had visions of you as a cartoon character floating in the air when you catch a smell. Lol. Bless Dan, some people just have that type of metabolism don't they? My friend is just the same can eat and eat and never put on weight. I used to watch him eating giant KFCs and think one day you'll end up really fat like how the nutty professor transforms! Lol. But he never has and I don't reckon ever will. Maybe they gave some people extra metabolism and forgot us?! Boooo!
