Travel Day – Plane Food
We Flew Virgin Atlantic on the 13.00 flight from Gatwick. We were provided with a bottle of water on the seats when we boarded, and then were given a drink about an hour into the flight. I think we all got juice. A little while after that they brought round menus & the choices were as follows: • Butter Chicken Curry • Pulled Beef & Boston Baked Beans • Tomato & Ricotta Rigatoni All were served with a salad, bread roll, GU passion fruit pudding and some cheese and crackers. I had the Tomato & Ricotta Rigatoni The pasta was quite tasty, better than I had expected I finished it. I didn’t really like the salad as it had some kind of pulses in & I don’t like pulses. (Sorry can’t remember what they were). The Gu pudding was tasty too. Andy had the Pulled Beef & Boston Baked Beans. Andy described this as being “Rank” & didn’t eat much of it at all. He enjoyed the pudding though. I think Sophie ate his cheese & crackers. We ordered kids meals for Sophie & George they were given sweet & sour pork with rice, a salad, a bread roll, some kind of fruit roll & a Gu pudding. Neither of them ate much of it at all. It was a good job I had brought our own sandwiches & snacks for them. About an hour and a half before landing we were served afternoon tea. This consisted of a cheese and onion or a sweet chilli chicken wrap, with plane crisps and a millionaire's shortbread type thing (shortbread biscuit with caramel & chocolate). I forgot to photograph these! The kids didn’t get a choice and were just served cheese and onion, neither of them ate the wrap, I think they ate the crisps & George ate half the short bread.
