1 Day car Hire from Port Everglades to Miami Airport

Evening All

Just wondering if anyone has done a 1 day car hire from Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) to Miami Airport and if you got charged any one way fees or had any problems/ charges that you weren't expecting ? We are considering hiring a car for the day we disembark the ship as our flight isn't until late evening and this would give us the flexibility to visit Sawgrass Mills, hopefully for some last minute shopping and a visit to the Cheesecake Factory!

We have found some great one day rates with Sixt which are very tempting and would make for a more interesting day than being dumped at the airport in the morning if we use Celebrity's transfer service!

We often do one day rentals at the end of a cruise or even mid cruise when on a back to back. In November we rented a car from Budget at Port Evergaldes for the day and went to Sawgrass. No one way rental fees within Florida. As you say it's a cheap way of using the time usefully until a later flight. We have been known to use the 'nicer' toilets in shopping malls for a wash and brush up and change into warmer clothes before going to the airport.

Thank you for your reply, it's reassuring to know that others have done the same thing. Great trip re changing in the better loos too
