Lytro camera

Has anyone got a Lytro camera?

I picked one of the original Lytro camera up over the weekend and wanted to see if anyone here has one?

I've fancied one for quite a while now but the $400 price put me off somewhat but managed to pick a VGC used one up from a good source for a good price.

Sadly I'm unable to get their desktop software to run on my Macbook Air though - won't run on OS 10 on one version then the newer version will use OS 10 BUT my graphics card isn't good enough

I know I can use some feature vua my iPad and iPhone though.

been keeping track of them since the first news article launched... extremely interesting technology, but at the price, i just couldnt justify it, as it would mostly be used as a toy.

was kinda hoping the technology would spread into other devices (like phones), but we dont seem to have made it that far yet, although the new model looks pretty nice! (although again, too expensive for me to buy as i wouldnt use it very often. produce a model for £100 and i'll jump)

yeah, still not cheap enough for me as an impulse buy... if it was the new model for a ton, i'd jump straight away, but the original is a few years old now, and fairly well known for its limitations.

if i can get the original for under £50, i'd buy one now..

Tell me about it ... I can't even get the software to run or connect it via WiFi to my "i" devices - but this is an issue they are working on.

The Lytro Illum is currently £599 if anyone is after one?
They're kind of fun but we're not really sure what the point is!
