First DLP Trip

So I have taken the plunge and booked a little trip to DLP for next Feb during half term From Sunday to the Tuesday staying at the New York Hotel for 2 Nights, driving down with a P&O ferry for the wet bit in the middle, have done florida 3 times now and booked for next august, what can i expect from DLP, I have always dismissed it i don't know why but with the 25% off and free ferry and half board i thought i would book it and be a xmas present for my DD, I know after reading a few things on here that the fastpasses work differently there but what else do i have look out for? and is 2 part days and 1 full day enough time to get around both parks?

It all depends how you approach DLP. You are not going to be in for a "Have a nice day" holiday. It's not in their nature. The CMs are pleasant enough but remember they are Europeans. The main Parc Disneyland is beautiful and has been spruced up for the 25th anniversary celebrations. The parade and shows are exceptional so don't miss them. Food varies from average at QS places to outstanding at Table Service. One meal I recommend is Bistrot Chez Remy - the steak was mouth watering. You can book meals up to 60 days in advance although you can usually get in somewhere when you are there. Make use of the Extra Magic Time. You get one hour before the public. In DLP it's only Fantasyland that will be open. At the Studios it means you can get a ride on Crush's Coaster and then the Ratatouille ride. Some characters have French names (e.g. Tinker Bell is Clochette) so be sure to speak clear English if you want autographs etc.

You can check on opening times - which characters are around etc here:

download.disneylandparis/...nd-Parades.pdf

It changes weekly.

Go exploring - have a nosey around the Disneyland Hotel. You'll have a great time

Just a quick question after checking the PDF in the link: Why are there always extra times for Tuesdays? Is anything special on this day? Even for Illuminations there is a special time: 18:40. I don't get it. What do I miss?

I imagine that this is because Tuesday this week is Halloween and there is a ticketed "soiree" that night, so these attractions have had their hours changed to fit in with that.

I've just come back from 2 nights in DLP, and while it's tight, it's totally do-able. We did the Disneyland Park on our first afternoon/evening, the Disneyland Park all day on our full day, then Studios on the morning of our last day, finishing back in the Disneyland Park in the afternoon before getting the train home. But it all depends on what you're after from your trip as to how you split it, I was with my 7 year old son who was obsessed with Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast, Pirates of the Caribbean and It's a Small World, so we were always going to be in the Disneyland Park the most

Given that your time will be tight definitely plan ahead for shows, meet and greets etc, using the show times link Geoff provided, check for the latest timings just before you go, I planned everything using a schedule a few weeks before we went and all the timings changed just before we were due to go, luckily I checked!

thanks for the replies, i have been doing some more reading and as part part of the free half board it stated quick service breakfast i can't actually find any info on where you get this from assuming its not the hotel, and a restaurant in the park?

more importantly where do i get glowtini from at DLP?

also where to go for dinner i have had a look at the chez remy which geoff recommended and it does look very nice with half board plus we will be tied to a set menu there i think.

thanks in advance

Take it for what it is as you probably already know justn 2 parks close to gether the village in walking distace of Disney parks . The parks themselves are smaller. The experience of Disneyland Paris is diffrent go and injoy the whole thing.

The best place to get breakfast is the New York deli in Disney Village, you get a baguette with butter and jam, a croissant or pain au chocolat a hot drink and a juice or water. The baguettes are huge! We saved ours for lunch

You can get a Glowtini in all the bars, and pay varying prices! Cafe Fantasia in the Disneyland Hotel is the most expensive at around €17, but they do them in all the hotel bars too, and Billy Bobs for anything from €12 to €15. You can get a blue Glowtini or a red Glowtini, both are yummy 😋

Food wise it really depends on what you like to eat. The vouchers can be used at face value in all DLP restaurants with the exception of Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood, king Ludwig’s, Vapianos and Five Guys (I think that’s all of them) so the best thing to do is have a look through the restaurant menus and see what you fancy

I can recommend Plaza Gardens, La Grange at Billy Bobs and Parkside Diner which are all buffets and all really good.

Hope that helps!
