What a brilliant thread, look forward to the others coming. Some great photos have been added! Hopefully I'll be able to get some when we go!

I have a couple in my album if you want to have a look, feel free to ask any questions as my DH has done a couple of courses and I have a friend who runs workshops and courses in LA.

The're not all mine as it's my DH who is the photo fanatic, as he says there will be one good one for about every 100 you take

Really looking forward to all your tips and advice, after seeing the original thread it spurred me on to getting my new camera. I have just treated myself to a Canon EOS 1100D. Haven't got a clue what i'm doing at the minute, but hopefully with lots of advice from you lot on here I should hopefully be able to get some decent piccys next year. Re: tripod, is it really worth taking one and lugging it around with you, surely it will be better to just find something to rest on.

Thanks for this, we just have a point and shoot digital, but will definitely use either something to rest on or timer and see how it works

Hi there, these were my 2nd attempt at taking photos of fireworks. I didn't have my tripod, but rested the camera on the railings.

Thanks, xx

Absolutely brilliant. I especially like the green one :-)

Did you use a remote shutter or timer? Or just carefully hit the button?

A.
