I have a Panasonic FZ1000 is an amazing camera, £500 after cutback from Currys and with 5 years guarantee, It's not small, about the same size as an slr but with an slr you'd need a backpack full of lenses to compare to this ones 25-400 top quality Leica lens, Works great for low light shots such as Electrical Parade and even on some rides, has an image stabiliser unlike most slrs so you won't need to lug a tripod. I shoot weddings and music gigs professionaly myself and have around £7000 of slrs and lenses but NO WAY would I carry them round a theme park all day.

My compact has been fixed by Nikon so looks like I will be taking that instead of something fancy. Still looking at a waterproof compact though...
