Mobile what camera? advice please

Would like to puchase a camera for holidays pics but I am a camera amateur so have not got a clue what camera to choose. I feel I will want a zoom lense and poss fast shutter speed, I do not want to spend a fortune just the essentials. Any advice welcome. Many thanks.

This one would do what you want. It says refurbished but everything I have bought has been as new.

The Nikon is a good camera, £70 at john lewis 2 yr warranty, to be honest, most cameras of the type you'll need will be fine as long as you choose a decent brand. If you ask on a forum, most people tend to recommend the ones they use and like so you could get 10 different brands to consider, very confusing.

This depends on your budget as what someone considers expensive others wouldn't. personally i spend quite a bit on electronics so I don't mind and for my florida trip next year I have just bought a new point and shoot so i don't have to carry around my dslr. The was £350 on offer and its a canon g7x and does some of the most amazing video for what i would say was a mid level point and shoot.

As mentioned it does really depend on your budget but I would look at some of the Panasonic Lumix models as they have the Leica lense which is superb

We used a Nikon ultra compact - small enough to not be a bind and good enough to take good photos in bright sun.

I am on my 3rd Panasonic Lumix camera. They are fab. My two older ones are still in use by my son and daughter. Can really recommend them.

All cameras these days are pretty much equally as good, a few do stand out and the main one for that is Panasonic TZ models ? why well the lens, plain and simple, the best out there by far and results show.

Argos are doing the Panny TZ55 at £99.
This is about as good a deal as you will get. Fantastic camera.
