Do Disney own DLP?

Hope this is the right thread!

I was reading about the poor boy's accident at DLP and it said at the bottom that DLP is no longer owned by Disney (as in the same people that own WDW and California). Is this correct?

I think it's a separate company which is licensed by Disney.

Thanks Bev, was just being nosey really! I never knew that but I guess it makes sense as Disney have licences on a lot of their products

a quick google suggests all the non USA parks are the same.

I dont think it was ever owned by Disney think its lisienced think that's why there's no consistency between dlp and wdw

Disney do not fully own DLP. The company that do is called Eurodisney SCA. Disney have the biggest and controlling share, after that it is a Prince from the Emirates. The rest of the shares are owned by people like you and me. Particularly me as I am a member of the shareholder's club as are a fair few Dibbers. There is a sticky on how to join on the Dibb DLP front page. You need 100 shared to be in the club. This gets you a decent selection of discounts, and entrance up to 5 times a month to Salon Micky, the small but very nice shareholder's club room at DLP

oo very interesting! I never knew that. I know it used to be called Eurodisney (now I know why!).

DLP is owned by Euro Disney SCA. The Walt Disney Company (who own all the parks in the US) owns a ~40% share of Euro Disney SCA.

So Disney do own some of it.

Tokyo Disney is slightly different. It's owned by the Oriental Land Company, who licence the 'brand' from the Walt Disney Company (so Disney don't officially own any part of Tokyo Disney). Whereas Hong Kong Disney is more similar to DLP in that WDC partially own it.
