Me, DH and 2 DS aged 16 and 14 did exactly the same parks as you in July. DH wanted to take boys shooting which I was dead set against. Had visions of them in a long line of random people shooting guns in a range.
Anyway despite my objections he booked firearm adventures in Fort Meade and it was one of the holiday highlights. The owner Don emailed dates when we would be the only people there and we were treated so well by him. He was so patient and said about the history of each weapon and how they were used. I felt the lads were completely safe with him which was the most important thing. We were there all day and they shot about 7 different guns from pistol to AK47.
Even I enjoyed it!
We also loved the cycle hire in Celebration and saw some fantastic aspects of the town that we would not normally have seen - mega houses and wildlife galore. Florida being so flat is a bonus on a bike!
Finally we did the giraffe safari in Busch. Feeding a giraffe lettuce was fantastic and we got some great photos. Well worth the money.
Hope you have a great time!

I thought it was expensive but apparently it's cheap for what you get - worked out about £120 each (not sure what $ exchange rate was) and we were there from 10am to 3pm

Over the years we have done airboat rides, dolphin watch cruise, world of Citrus, Lake Louisa State Park, Helicopter tour, Orlando Science Centre, Art Gallery of Orlando, Dali Museum, trip to the Keys and the glass bottomed boat tour amongst others. We always try to do something new and different each trip.

We went to Kelly springs and hired some rubber rings from a garage near the park entrance. It was lovely there, but a fallen tree meant the springs run was out of action - we stayed around the large natural pool instead. All was fine until there was lots of screaming and we saw the lifeguards trying to catch a large snake with a pole from the side of the pool. Then, a small child found something in the bottom of the pool and asked his dad what it was - it was an alligator tooth! We couldn't go in after that as we were scared of what was hiding in the many reeds! We are terrible wimps with such things and we really should have thought about the wildlife being a bit scarier than at home. Great if you are braver than us with such things though!

We returned a couple of weeks ago and only had tickets for the Busch group parks. We did the giraffe safari at BG. It was really interesting finding out about the animals and going round in the open top truck. Lasts about an hour. The giraffes are friendly and eat the vegetation from your hand. Try to book an early slot as later on they don't always want to eat. We booked before we went, but you can book on the day whilst you're there😊.
