Disney Cruise Line

Hi there

Has anyone been on a Disney Cruise and if so can you tell me if it is correct that on the morning of debarkation you have to attend immigration at between 5.30 am to 6.00am to get your passport back, as stated in the Passporter book? Seems a bit early to me and if so I have some news to break to my husband. It states that all members of the party have to attend including my son ! We are on the late sitting for breakfast and that is at 8.00 am. I was going to use the DIS board but realise that the majority who go on the cruises are americans and they do not have to go through this ritual.

Hope someone can answer my question

Yes I am afraid you do. Its not so bad tho, just means you get to spend a few more precious hours awake on the last day to soak it all in. The cruise is fantastic and I really wouldn't let this put you off.

correct

We just finished our 2nd Disney Cruise on Thursday and yes, you are correct that all non-US have to go at 6am.

I am lucky in that I have 2 passports and my daughter was born in the USA so we got to sleep in.

If you go, do not miss the new STINGRAY ENCOUNTER at Castaway Cay, it is really good.

As previously stated, don't let this put you off - you don't have to be there till 6.00am (but go early or you will be hanging around even more than necessary).

They have coffee and croissants etc. laid on to ease the pain.

ALL passengers have to be off the ship between 7.30am and 9.00am, so no one gets much of a lie in ,in any case !
Its a US custom's ruling ...but I guess it suits Disney to have everyone up and off the boat so early- given their quick turn arounds

Have a great trip !

Hi

Yes, that is right. We were getting up before 6 am to get our passport back. I mean each person not one of the group! I pointed out it was not fair but it was law decided not the cruise! I pointed out what the different that American will get new passport in 2007? Are they getting up at 6 am? i dont think so. Not fair! We were so tired and we got up before 6 am then realised it was lots of people there and after that went to Parrot Cay for breakfast! But another thing it was really fantastic cruise! My son was very upset to leave Disney Cruise, he make me lump my throat!

Thanks for all your replies folks. I have booked already for September 28th 3 night cruise and cant wait but this news hit out at me so will have to break it to DH and DS. Dont think they will mind too much though! Have heard so many good reports about the cruise and just thought it would be something different to do. Will probably go up to Daytona for the rest of the day before heading back to Orlando so it will be good to have a head start after breakfast.

Really need to start dieting though as understand the food is wonderful on the ship.

Blimey, thats rough. Glad they put everyones welfare first. Think 6.00 am is early enough really, especially as it is only a 3 night cruise. Do you miss working on it?

Talking Cruise Staff

We made friends with some lovely Cruise Staff this time around and my 12 year old cried her eyes out when she had to say farewell to one of them in particular. Her name was Natalie and she was from Essex (I used to make Essex jokes at her all the time).
She was so sweet and so very kind to my daughter. When she was one number away from winning the bingo and did not win, she (my daughter) was very upset. That night, when we came back to our Stateroom, Natalie had a gift delivered to my daughter - a lovely card, a Magical Moments Certificate, a Mickey flashing lights pen and a lovely photo frame. This was so very kind of her.
She would always find time to search for Cosette and still do all that hard work that the staff have to do.
The funny thing is, she was supposed to of ended her contract the week before we arrived but decided to extend until July! She is wanting to extend again until March 2007. My daughter wants to go on the Cruise for a 3rd time just to see Natalie.
The others on our ship (The Wonder) were, Michael (from UK), Michael (from South Africa), Melanie (from South Africa), Laura (from UK)

All were so nice and I know loved their job even though it is a very hard one.
