1 parent taking kids...

I asked a ling time ago advice about this and somebody posted a template example of a letter they drew up to get the other parent to sign... but I can't find it

Also...if we have this letter signed do we need a copy of their birth certificates? Oh ex (step daughters x2 mum) won't let us have birth cert but will sign the letter... I'm worried we run into problems x

As the kids parent your partner can purchase additional copies of their birth certificates from the GRO.

I didn't realise that... do u know how we go about that and I'm hoping it's not too long...we go in 30 days! Knew she would play up as it got near!

If the kids were born locally to where you live you can also get them from the registry office where the birth was registered.

(Frankly I wouldnt have trusted my ex not to lose or not bother returning my copies of ours birth certificate so I'd have told him to get his own )

Lol thanks for that.. just had a nightmare... we've asked for passports to copy th3m she said no. So we said look you can have them back on Monday but we need copies ... she told the kids she's lost them (we paid for them...and they only arrived 2months ago so I'm not buying that) says we can have th3m whenvth3y come the night before..last thing I needed to do is find somewhere to photocopy after 5pm the night before we fly 😠

Not sure why you would need copies of birth certificates, we only took the covering letter & were only asked for it on the way back into the UK. I would be more concerned with the passport issue, as the "night before" doesn't leave much leeway for problems.
For the letter, just Google, that's where I downloaded ours from.

I managed to get the passports..she thinks they're going back to her tomorrow...they aren't! They're staying with us as she doesn't need them over the next 30days...
