16 year old Flying with sister

Hi, we are flying ahead of our two kids in may and the plan is they will fly out to Miami to meet us. Our son will be 16 and daughter 20. I assume we will still have to give consent letters as his parents? And if so what type of letter? TIA

This is a thread from when I recently asked a similar question. I’d contact the airline to check if they need anything. My son was flying alone & Thomas cook said just a letter signed by both parents as permission to let a minor fly. In your case I’d guess you either provide him with permission to fly alone, or specifically nominate his sister as the ‘responsible adult’.

You will probably find most airlines don't really care/check as long as travelling with an adult.

Think we will be flying BA so that’s not a problem I read some stuff about the USA immigration though. Just wondered if anyone had recently done it.

We flew out to Vegas 5 days ahead of the kids about 5 years ago. DD would have been 20 and DS 16. They flew BA and no questions were asked. The jammy wee beggars even got an upgrade from WT+ to CW
