Just for reference. Its my understanding that there isn't an Alamo Brits discount. If you use Alamo Brits its a 3rd party booking. They go by the name of Strathearn

From the Alamo Brits website:
“As a leading leisure car rental company to the USA, we've teamed up with Brit's Guide to offer you 10% off our great value prices - for any car type! Plus you can enjoy free additional driver on all rentals, which could save you over £50 per person on a 2 week rental!”

If they {Alamo) are giving you 10% off is that not a discount? You are also booking directly with Alamo on an Alamo website. No sign of a third party website that I can see.

alamo/partners/members/brits/

They say you need to show a copy of Brits guide. I’ve used Alamo Brits for years and never been asked.

Alamo staff will tell you that Brits is a 3rd party company however their staff are wrong. I've resolved a few issues for dibb members who've had issues with obtaining refunds with Alamo staff telling them to speak to the company they've booked through.

When you rent a car through Brits your credit card statement shows as
Alamo Rent a car UK

When you cancel and rebook the refund shows as Alamo rent a car Stockholm.

Thus the booking is direct with Alamo. Hope this clears it up.

Yes it is through alamo uk, that's why the guy from alamo I spoke to said he couldn't properly look at my issue. Iv been told to take it up with alamo Orlando when I get there and if no joy then he will do his best to get me a courtesy refund afterwards.

anyone else experienced this? I have done online check in a few times before and never had any issues like this.
I have just done olci and have a car seat paid in full and like you it now says i have $82 to pay at counter. If I carry on and try to do skip the counter will it charge my card?

Online check in doesn't charge your card anything (it won;t ask for your card). If you do the straight to the garage step, then it may well charge your card. But I wouldn't bother doing that... Do the olci in, go straight to the hut in the garage and show them proof you've paid for the child seat.

It would certainly appear to be a bug. If you want to send me a private message with your surname and Alamo ref number, i'll flag it up with Alamo and see if they can fix it.

Can you still go straight to the garage if you only do olci and not skip the counter?

Yes you can as long as your paperwork has the barcode.
