They rang me up and just had a conversation with me about where I’d been, when I returned and whether I knew I had to quarantine. This was the day after I landed.

I’ve heard that if they don’t believe you’re at home, they can send police round. We didn’t get a police visit but randomly the police did drive past which I thought was bizarre as we live down a dead end unadopted road in the middle of the countryside. (This was near the end of quarantine.) I’m thinking that was just coincidence though.😉

Thank you! I’ve been wondering if they checked or if they trust people (lol!). I’ve booked for Italy next week, and so far we don’t need to quarantine, but I’m trying to prepare myself for whether it changes.

You maybe don’t know the answer, but is it true you’re allowed to go and do one shop, and then quarantine?!

I believe that quarantine starts the day after you arrive home. We arrived home at midnight so just started it straight away as we’d ordered an online shop for that day anyway.

You are allowed out to get shopping if you have absolutely no one else to go for you. Our neighbour and my mum kindly picked up a couple of things that we ran out of between shops otherwise we would have had to go out to get them.

Ahh, that’s what I was wondering! We’re lucky enough that we’re able to work from home if needs be, but I was wondering about the shopping.

Are you allowed to go out for a walk, or are you really completely inside for two weeks?

Makes sense I suppose! That’s the one thing that I would miss haha. I’m otherwise happy to stay in my house for two weeks and not socialising. I do like my morning walk though!

Just go for a walk in one of these. Technically you're still indoors.
