Breakdown cover
Im currently looking for breakdown cover. Had for a year now with AA but renewal is a lot.
Living in Northern Ireland, AA is very popular as it covers the Republic for no extra cost. Found a company called Start Rescue with European cover which looks a good price, but never heard of them. Anyone used them? Quidco is never guaranteed, especially with breakdown policies, so thats just a added bonus. RAC covers the Republic for free but only a very basic cover. Our current AA covers both of us but is in my name. Do you think if I cancelled and took a new policy out in the other name for both of us that this would work (and get Quidco)?

Every year our AA breakdown goes up.
This year it stayed the same, maybe because of what's going on. Usually they match RAC introductory offer. We used to be with RAC but swapped to AA when RAC wouldn't match AA introductory offer. That was twenty years ago. It's all a bit of a game, they hope you sign up on an offer, then try to put it up. AA are pretty good at matching offers. We have had breakdown cover included with new cars, when it expires the offers can be worse than for new customers so we just cancel. AA covers the member not the car, RAC is other way around, if you have several cars that could be a plus. If several people drive one car maybe RAC way is best. |

We have been with AA for years, renewal policy just come through with ridiculous price, husband called them and they took £70 off the cost. So definitely try calling them and haggle.

I've been with AutoAid for 2 years after getting a deal on MoneySavingExpert. I've not called them out yet, but their reviews and prices were good.
