We hope to be there for 6th October this year. It was busy three years ago but not too much the only ride issues were SDMT the night we were there for MNSSHP.. snack booth queues were long though. We realise this year may be much different because of the pandemic and the restrictions we will all need to follow.

Sorry to jump on this but I'm also thinking of doing this.

Has anyone been in August and if so are these dates quiet?

I’ve been on one of the dates mentioned. We did a Tuesday and it was busy as to be expected.

We arrived at around 3.45pm and got our wrist bands queueing for jack skellington. He came out early and that allowed us to have it done by 5.15pm which allowed us to get some photos down the back entrance with the pumpkins and stuff.

We then queued early for lotso bear around 45 mins. When the party opened we had him done within 5 mins. We then did the monster inc dance party for 30 mins then did a couple of trails and queued for Turk. Did a couple more trails then got a seat early for the boo to you parade. Our 3 year old was exhausted by the end of it and with it being dark asked to go home. Walking out we caught the firework show before leaving which was handy. Was lovely leaving and my little lad falling asleep on me.

We also did a Christmas party but again my little boy who was 2 was asking to go after the fireworks. Similar plan to the above except we queued for the seven dwarfs.

Party nights are busy and I must admit you feel a little conned at how busy they actually are but if you plan on what you want to see they are enjoyable. The most important advice I can give is not to expect to do everything as this will put a downer on the night as you’ll constantly be getting frustrated with the waits and queues.

I’m not sure how/if they will do character meet and greets this year at any point. We will all have to wait and find out. I’m also thinking will they add pre arranged photos of the characters into Photopass for the night for those guests who have one on their booking? That may be a way to get their photos and with some Disney magic add the guests into the shots... just an idea. It’s sure going to be a learning curve this year since the front line staff will need PPE it’s definitely making me appreciate life at the moment.

Went August Last year and no it was not at all quiet, still people staking spots out for the parade from 4pm etc
Have also been in Oct and I saw no difference. I don't know how may tickets that are available but it did not reel much different from a normal park day.

What we did was miss the first parade and go on some rides then do the candy stops and then come back for the evening parade. So much better, especially round frontier land. Loads of space and a great view there. Round the castle is just mental and not really enjoyable to be honest.

We had walk-on rides around 11pm BTM we went on 4 times in a row, its great in the dark
