It is. Even when in WT plus they charge for seats.
Depending on the aircraft with BA the entertainment can be old. If your on 747 you need to check it’s been fully refurbished as a handful aren’t. Other than that not much difference imo.

I lije both, Tory are on a par with each other. I prefer American over both of them, but BA are as good as Virgin

BA for us too. We’ve booked many recently with BA and they have been faultless.
We were due to go to Majorca to visit family in May and with all that is going on BA contacted us to advise the fight was going to be cancelled and that they would be refunding us. Four days later the money was back in the account. Superb service. When you do book, keep an eye on your booking via the BA app. You can sometimes get to upgrade for absolutely peanuts! 😉 |

I have never been a fan of BA, however living in Glasgow and occasionally travelling out of season we had no choice but to book with them. Found some of the planes old and tired. However after booking our June trip with them and then having the flight cancelled a couple of weeks ago I cannot fault their handling of the situation. Called for a refund on the Monday and money back on card by Thursday, high praise for their customer service.

Before Covid BA operated their re-furbished 777's out of LGW and general reports were positive.
As far as special assistance BA a few months ago set up a specialist department so you could contact BA and discuss any needs - it is a UK based department (Newcastle) and open 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Many of the staff have their own personal experiences of what may be needed and they are friendly and helpful. I nearly always travel with BA but that is purely because I decided to collect BA airmiles and not spread my loyalty about. In economy I can’t imagine there is much difference, the legroom is the same.
We usually get our Orlando flights on points and fly business although last year I booked Virgin UC due to BA strike shenanigans. Virgin UC is a smaller cabin than BA which is nice, lounge is better than BA, but overall I prefer BA business to Virgin UC. |

If Virgin survive in the long term I can see it being introduced by them. Easy money left on the table and when you are losing money you take all you can get.
As to VS or BA I would take BA every time now unless VS where really cheap, not seen that for a few years though. VS have shown how contempt they are of their customers by delaying refunds for so long without giving any reasonable legal reasons. Edited at 08:51 AM. |

I like Virgin but will more than likely only use BA from now. The BA flydrive option is for me the safest way to book from now. Deposit only and a good price.

Probably still cheaper than VA (with seat cost on top)
Also they are very good at keeping families together and allocating seats in advance (we’ve never been split up but had a v.poor experience with Virgin/Delta one trip). We always try to use BA or AA (if a codeshare) as they’ve been very good for us. Inflight entertainment is excellent and food/drink also good. Even have their own brew dog cans |
