Wow sounds like you have some great plans. We did 3 weeks last year and loved it. Think after nect year we'll also have to stick to August, so will be looking forward to hearing how you find it.

Fingers crossed for aventura opening earlier. We were also booked there for 11th August - still showing on our booking with BA although they did ask us if we would move to cabana bay. I still hope that construction works will move more quickly and the hotel will open earlier.

We went in August for the first time last year and elected to do 3 weeks to try and offset the heat a bit. We were very glad we did. We’ve been in Feb, May, June, September, October and December in previous years and August was on another level to any of them with its humidity, some days were a bit of a struggle, so we were definitely glad of having extra time to play with.
We actually always used to go for 3 weeks prior to having kids and that reminded us how much better a longer holiday is anyway 😊 We’ve booked for 18 days this year as a compromise!

Goody, another trippie
I really like the idea of a greatest hits tour, and those hotels all look/sound fabulous. Such a shame about the Aventura, especially as you had such a good time at Cabana Bay when that was brand new - you never know though, they have a couple of months for the builders to hurry up and get the job done still. Well done on the flights too. I 100% understand about want to go BA for the Gold perks, if you have them you might as well use them and the lounges are so nice. Depending what terminal you are flying from at gatwick, I recommend the Sofitel, it connects directly to the terminal and has a nice atrium with a fountain. Looking forward to reading how you get on with your planning, and how the trip goes too.
