Buying Annual pass for the 1st time and FP...

Hi all, I have 2 trips to Disney planned within 12 months so am planning on buying a Annual Pass for the 1st time. The savings in parking, shops and reasturants makes this a sensible choice.

My questions is though, if I purchase this online can I still book FP 30 days out, even though I will not be collecting the actual AP until the 1st day of our holiday?

I did e-mail Disney with the sam question but they didn't really answer my question, I am sure the awesome people on the dibb will know...

Thanks all.

Now that's something I have not thought about - I guess it would work out at the same price (roughly). Can you upgrade at Disney Springs?

You can book 30 days out but can only book a maximum of 7 day fast passes with the Annual Pass. You don't save a great deal by upgrading a 14 day (I think someone recently quoted it was $490 for the upgrade so its around $70 cheaper I think). We purchased ours last year directly as it was just easier than trying to get upgrades over there and saved us parking etc as you get your first day parking refunded when you prepurchase. Not sure whether you do if you upgrade.

I'm with this. Exactly what we done. You keep all ADR and FP reservations. You should also be reimbursed your first day parking when you show them your receipt.

We always buy on line with Disney. You get a will-call barcode for picking up tickets, and a number to add to MDE. You can then do your fast passes - but only 7days at a time.

For some reason when I last tried to buy an AP online (this was 2017) I just could not seem to buy it on the WDW website using an international card. This was bizarre as the very same card could be used to book and pay a deposit for WDW hotels, buy normal Magic Your Way tickets, and book ADRs on the WDW website.

So I just bought a 10 day Magic Your Way ticket and used it to book FPs, then upgraded to an AP on my first day in WDW.

Yes same thing. My card kept bouncing when I tried to re-new my passes and I had to call in to pay! I can't for the life of me remember how I did it the first time around, if the website worked then or if I also called in then!?
