Drive from Miami Airport to Disney
Just looking at flights and there is a good deal from Gatwick to Miami 22/07/20 - 05/08/20 with Norwegian Air.
I was wondering what peoples experience is driving Miami to Disney? I am happy enough driving in the US but didn't know if the long drive is hard work after a long flight? Is it around 3 hours? Thanks

It is hard work. You'll most likely have already had a long day with an early check in and then be driving on easy but unfamiliar roads in an unfamiliar car possibly in the dark.
We tend to book a nearby hotel , eat , swim and sleep knowing that with jet lag we will be awake stupid early the next morning to hit the road. |

It’s a long drive but we always stay overnight either in Miami itself or recently driven up the coast 1hr to Deerfield beach and spent the night there, we then leave in the morning half refreshed, stop at vero a beach for lunch by the sea and carry on to Orlando. We actually enjoy doing it this way, I really miss the sea when in Orlando so it gives me a bit of a fix!

3hrs ? don't even dream about it
we've done the opposite route, all on the turnpike, absolutely desert highway the whole time, barely a 5 minutes stop to go to the loo ... and it took us 3h45 minutes driving around 10 over posted speed limit (seems to be the norm on US highway BTW) one thing is for sure, I wouldn't do that drive after a transatlantic flight, and would get a hotel room for the night you could also use US27 to avoid tolls (turnpike is tolls all the way and is concrete, nothing but boring concrete) but that would even more require a good nights sleep since you'll probably up at silly o'clock on the next morning, you could hit the road, get to orlando quite early |

I was considering doing this drive, but then found fab prices with American Airlines (operated by BA) going indirect LHR-MIA-MCO.
Maybe try AA to see if they have any good flights for you, so you don't need to do the drive. |

we done it last september for going home and the drive was ok, we were about 4.5 hours with stops along the way for food & windscreen cleaning as the bugs were horrific
Wouldn't fancy it coming off a flight so would recommend staying over somewhere to break it up...you'd be up early on your first day so you could hit the road sharpish and have the majority of the day at Disney

Definitely would look at this, saves the drive and means you get to MCO as a domestic passenger

We drove this year Miami to endless summer and hit a series of crashes on the 95 after a lot of rain and it was nearly a five hour drive. It was dreadful
