Easier to just get an Uber to the airport and do it properly in the first place, and probably cheaper too.

Well, I thought it would have been too but it was near on 200.00 more expensive! This was a "fly-drive" package booked through BA.

Pick up at SFO was 2895, pick up at FW 2698 - just checked again.

Not sure why as that was what I would have favoured. Possibly airport taxes or something?

Odd isn't it.

Must vary by pick up times and whether they are busy times in certain depots etc. Sure there's some algorithm to make sense of it

Very strange. Would have preferred pick up from Airport and have also usually found it cheaper that way but not this time.

We shall see how it goes.

Choice is not really an option. They only get in what you pre-order with maybe a choice of 1 or 2 others. We were really unhappy with our car and the only other available upgrade was a massive monster truck type thing, so we had to stick with it. It was however, really convenient however to where we were staying (The Argonaut) on FW. Literally a two minute walk. No hassle at all.
