When do you stop checking sleeping children?

Every night before I go to bed (and sometimes randomly in the middle of the night) I always check on the kids. I’m not completely sure why but I feel it has to be done.

My eldest is nearly 19 but I still check . 🥰

I still check my 17 year old, and as for my 21 year old when he’s at home (he’s a uni student) I can’t sleep until he gets in. Which is really silly because he lives in the city during term time.

Only if they're ill. Otherwise I don't dare risk waking them up!

I used to sneak in and take photos of mine sleeping. They look like angels when they are asleep!

My mum checked on me last night and scared the monkeys out of me and I’m 27 (she’s staying while I have chemo this week as hubby is away hahaha so there is a valid reason but still unnecessarily scary!)

I check on my 28 year old son if he's at home alone. Though not if his girlfriend is here - that WOULD be weird !

I check on them as I go to bed and again when I do any loo trips.

DD is type1 diabetic so her alarms might suggest further checks are needed for her safety but normal mum checks, at least twice a night.
