Covering a cardboard box

I have seen videos on how to cover a cardboard box with paper. It seems relatively easy but do Dibbers have any tips which might help please like best paper to use and what not to use. Best glue, presume PVA?

Jan I use a soft paper to decoupage scrap book and wall paper thickness is too thick
I always use mod podge you can get it in Matt or gloss check, out amazon
PVA will work but/I just get on better with mod
If the box is dark or has layering etc quick coat of what ever your main base colour paper in chalk acrylic or kids s huoo type paint that’s
Completely dry makes all the difference I actually use paper napkins a lot peeling off the layers and using them in layers let dry then the next layer
Material also works really well cotton / polyester blends fat quarters etc much more forgiving if you have to reposition if it’s not just right when you place it
And don’t forget when it’s dry to apply a layer of Podgorica or PVA over the top
