Legoland visit quick review
We visited Legoland Windsor on Monday. Having travelled from Wales we were aware that rules were different in England now but totally shocked at the lack of spacious awareness and common sense.
We arrived at opening and the place was very busy as to be expected, no one wearing masks. Felt strange as we still have to wear them in Wales. First ride we headed for was Ninjago 50 min wait, there are floor markers stating keep distance and some perspex screens in between queues, no one took any notice, we felt so uncomfortable as family behind us were practically breathing on us as they were so close, we understand there are now no laws on social distancing but it's just common sense to leave some sort of space. Some ride queues were worse than others and people basically touching you as so close, all rides had more than 30 min queues so in close contact with lots of people for a long time. We wore our masks when queuing and on any rides where we were close to anyone else. Not many other people in park had masks on. I know we all have to get back to normal at some point and now that the rules have been relaxed no one is doing anything wrong but can't help thinking why can't people have more sense and just be a little more considerate. Was certainly an eye opener and wonder what it will be like here in Wales after rules lifted today although we still have to wear masks in most places.

Alton Towers was the same a couple of weeks ago too. I mean it’s not surprising as a lot of people didn’t follow the social distancing and masks rule when we had to - they took masks off as soon as rides started.

Just got back from Alton Towers and even inside maybe a third of people were wearing masks at most, absolutely no distancing at all. Even staff working inside weren't wearing masks. I'm in England, and didn't expect distancing but was surprised at masks. I personally was happy outside but indoors, when so many of the people there were too young to have been vaccinated x2 seemed risky, no wonder cases are high! When I've been out locally to where I live recently most people are wearing masks in shops still.
I wore a mask inside because I figured it would offer a little protection, I'm not so much worried about my health but having to isolate would be a real pita. |
