Airbnb questions

Is it normal for Airbnb owners to ask for information about yourself and the trip you are planning? Looking at booking somewhere in Cornwall and not sure I want to share anything!

Everytime I've booked one it always has a section to fill in a bit about who you are and why you're travelling. I normally just keep it simple with things along the lines of, my husband and I are having a short break to visit the area and your aparyment/cottage looks like a wonderful base. Never been asked for anything else more detailed.

Yes it is due to the loads of unfortunate experience hosts have had during covid when they have been told lies and have then had to argue with Airbnb when damage or guests have made facticious complaints just to get money back
We had one but they were on a hiding to nothing as they had breeches our t&cs and we had physical proof and their replies to our questions
Yes I know it’s odd but we are trusting renters with our very very expensive properties in some cases
